Microsoft sued for Silverlight
It is not as though Microsoft’s intrusion into Adobe territory with the advent of Silverlight wasn’t risky business. But the first pitfall in Microsoft’s enriched web media push comes — surprisingly — not from Adbobe, but a little-known firm by the name of Gotuit.
A recent lawsuit filed by Spencer Hosie of San Francisco on behalf of Gotuit alleges that the video meta data and simulstreaming powering NBC’s internet coverage of the Beijing Olympics infringes multiple patents held by Gotuit.
As yet Microsoft has not been served with the suit and was therefore mum to comment on the details when questioned.
